Dry Season (June to August and December to February): These are considered the best months for visiting Uganda, particularly for wildlife safaris and gorilla trekking. The weather is drier and more predictable, making road conditions better for travel. Wildlife congregates around water sources, making it easier to spot.
Wet Season (March to May and September to November): These months constitute the rainy seasons, which can make some roads impassable and increase the difficulty of trekking. However, the lush green landscapes are beautiful during this time, and birdwatching is fantastic.
Gorilla Trekking: Gorilla trekking can be done year-round, but the dry seasons (June to August and December to February) are popular because the trails are less muddy and the trek is generally more comfortable. However, permits are limited, so booking well in advance is crucial.
Birdwatching: If you're a bird enthusiast, consider visiting during the wet season (March to May and September to November) when migratory birds are present, and the country's avian diversity is at its peak.
