3DAYS – GORILLA TREKKING BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Home to almost half of the world's endangered mountain gorilla population, Bwindi offers an extraordinary opportunity for intimate encounters with these gentle giants.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your tour guide / driver will pick you from the Hotel early morning at 7am and setoff for a long drive to the South West to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have a stopover at the equator for experimentation and photography thereafter lunch break at Igongo Cultural Centre near Mbarara town and visit to the museum.
You will proceed to Bwindi National Park arriving early in the evening.
Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Day Experience
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, travel to National Park Headquarters to meet your ranger guide for the day where you receive a briefing about the rules and expectations for gorilla trekking and begin your Gorilla Tracking experience.
​
As you venture into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, you'll be instantly struck by the lush, misty beauty of the ancient rainforest. The trek can vary in duration, from a few hours to a full day, depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family.
​
As you approach the gorilla family, the rangers will ensure a safe distance, and you will be able witness the gorillas playing, grooming, or even resting. The family dynamics and interactions are fascinating to observe, and your ranger guide provides valuable information about the gorillas' behavior and social structure. Mountain Gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 1,000 remaining in the wild. This is an experience of a lifetime!

Following the Trek, return to the lodge and if time allows, take a guided afternoon community walk and enjoy the Batwa Experience.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, drive back to Kampala/Entebbe International Airport for your flight out later in the evening. Stop over for a quick picnic lunch and you may buy a few souvenirs.
